President Barack Obama!

Oh My, There are absolutely no words that can describe how ecstatic i am that Barack Obama has become the 44th president of the United States...it is a beautiful thing! Nor can i describe how incredibly happy i am that Mr. Bush has skedaddled his sorry ass back to Texas. It's just a shame that there wasn't a paddywagon waiting to take him to jail to await trial for war crimes, crimes against humanity and failure to adhere to the Geneva Convention.

But, i'm just too damn happy to even dwell on that right now. This election has helped to heal so much and has inspired so many. One thing i've also noticed is that artists have been incredibly inspired by this man. On Flickr there are some amazing Groups showing their Obama Art. This piece by TMNK (The Me Nobody Knows) is definitly one of my favorites...

And lastly i would like to leave you with the Photograph of the Day which i snatched from a very entertaining blog by one of my fellow southerners, Cajun Boy In The City. Laterrr, You Babbling Idiot!

I too am excited about Pres. Obama. It reminds me of when Kennedy was elected as the first Catholic. Every Catholic family had a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus next to the picture of JFK. GW had many blunders but I also believe he had to dig himself out of a hole from events within the first 12 months of his first term. (1) Nasdaq stock market bubble bursted first quarter of 2000. By the time he came in office, in 2001 we were in recession. (2)9/11/2001 drove us deeper into recession. Fortunately or not GW had a different focus after 9/11.

I am a financial analyst so I look at business cycles, much is beyond the control of any President. GW is an easy target in my opinion.

I did not vote for Mr. Obama but I do and will support him. I hope he can help get the economy back on track and better the U.S image in the world. Unfortunately, I do not think the terrorists are going away anytime soon.

As for me, I am a moderate. I can't stand corporate greed as much as I believe labor unions are helping to send jobs overseas. If every CEO put than employees interest before their own and their shareholders, then there would be no need for Unions. In a globalized economy corporations with unionized labor cannot compete; ie Ford and GM.

I still love your music!!!!

I also am a big fan of TMNK and missed meeting him by a few minutes outside of the Outsider Art Fair in NY last month. Can't wait to see your ukulele. Mine got thrown out with the comics under my bed during a too stringent house cleaning while I was enjoying myself at day camp. Oh the trauma's of childhood!

Hi Beverly,
I know about those kind of cleanings....I've got a mom like that. She has throw away kicks that frighten me. I remember her making me clean out my closet once and she said i could keep, i think it was three of my stuffed toys and the rest had to go. It was terrible. (Okay, i don't want anyone to think she was Joan Crawford or something, she's great. (Hi Mom) But the things she's thrown away...grrrr.

And yes...TMNK or 'Nobody' is really great. I'd love to have some of his work. But oh, my poor piggybank!

Ukulele post coming up on Friday...stay tuned!

Bye Bev!
